It is with great honor and pride that I welcome you to the virtual house of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated, Beta Chapter. Beta Chapter was founded on December 20th, 1907 by 19 distinguished men. Brothers Welford R. Wilson, C. Edmund Smith, A. Peyton Cook, John A. McMurray, George A. Lyle, Carl A. Young, J. Oliver Morrison, Moses Alvin Morrison, James R. Chase, Cornelius S. Cowan, J. Russel Hunt, William D. Giles, Robert E. Giles, Daniel W. Bowles, Morris S. Walton, Junius W. Jones, James E. Hayes, Jewel Eugene Kinckle Jones, and Jewel Nathaniel Allison Murray began a tradition of excellence that continues today.
I am humbled to serve as the president of Beta chapter at this historic time. Our renowned chapter has been vital in the progression of African-Americans and our community since its founding. As we celebrate 101 years of Beta perfection, we remember to reflect upon the prestigious men who have been made at Beta. We also continue building upon the legacy established by those who came before us. As Jewel Vertner Woodson Tandy said, "We must fight until hell freezes over, and then fight on the ice."
